The continuous attempt to survive in today¨s competitive era has led to the rise of innovative solutions in the form of technologies and services. In other words we can say innovative solutions in the form of smart products and services are driving the global competitive markets which lead to the new paradigm as fourth industrial revolution or Smart Industries, with the help of three driving forces such as IOT, Big Data and Machine Leaning.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of physical devices, vehicles, and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and network connectivity which enable these objects to collect and exchange data. IoT along with Big Data and Machine learning technology helps in harnessing the sensor data, Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communication and automation. The driving philosophy behind the IoT is that smart machines are better than humans at accurately, consistently capturing and communicating data. This data can enable companies to pick up on inefficiencies and problems sooner, saving time and money and supporting business intelligence efforts. IoT holds great potential for quality control, sustainable and green practices, supply chain traceability and overall supply chain efficiency.

IoT & Big Data fuels the realization of smart industries with the help of Machine Learning techniques. But Big Data poses several crucial challenges due to its inherent complexities, which opens up potential research opportunities. This special issue invites contributions from potential researchers who are engaged with research in the area of IOT, Big data and Machine Learning techniques.
